171 Union Street
Tuesday 14th May, 2019 (7 pm)
Networking groups Young People in the Arts and Young Arts Fundraisers have teamed up to host a debate about fundraising in the cultural sector.
Arts organisations have always been under scrutiny when it comes to their partnerships, donors’ relationships, and external relations. The recent rise in global activism has contributed to heightened expectations, with public opinion asking for arts organisations to show exemplary ethical leadership. Through this discussion, we’ll be asking the question on everyone’s minds – are the arts responsible for social change?
The evening will start off with a discussion on best practice in fundraising in the arts sector, before widening the debate to explore activism and ethics in arts organisations, led by three remarkable speakers, including Emily Collins-Ellis (Senior Advisor at I.G. Advisors) and Ian MacQuillin (Director at Rogare – The Fundraising Think Tank).
Tickets cost £6. For further information and to book a ticket, visit the Young People in the Arts website here: https://www.ypia.co.uk/event/activism-ethics-and-the-arts-dilemma-a-blame-free-discussion
