Czech Centre in
28 October to 9 December 2018
This October marks the 100th year anniversary since the foundation of Czechoslovakia. To celebrate this momentous occasion the Czech Centre will present CZECH100, a festival of art, design, fashion, theatre, music, film and events, presented at the Czech Centre London and other venues across the city, including the Barbican, Design Museum, Regent Street Cinema, Tate Modern, UCL, plus others.
As a major part of the festival, MADE IN PRAGUE, the UK’s oldest national film showcase, will kick off Czech 100 celebrations. This year’s line-up boasts an impressive array of UK premieres and new releases from Oscar-winning and acclaimed directors, plus an opening night gala at the Barbican, screening Jan S. Kolár’s silent epic St Wenceslas from 1929; accompanied by a musical ensemble specialising in medieval polyphony.
