Finn started his career in 1999 with the “Ball Chair” which quickly went on to become an iconic, design classic. The constant experimenting and exploring of different mediums has lead to what Finn describes as a ”Battle between control and excess”, balancing spontaneous creation with creative control.
On the 11th of October, Imitate Modern invites you to view these exclusive and coveted works by the Mad Hatter himself. Spanning the mediums of fibreglass, wood, and glass to re-purposing everyday items such as paintbrushes and Lego.
Well-known works by Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, and Hirst have become three-dimensional artworks in Finn Stone’s creative world: whether they are made from hundreds of paint-brushes or are Hirst-esque sharks with multicoloured chicken pox. Increasing in popularity and value throughout his career, Stone’s paintbrush artworks are now sold more than £24k on the art market.
An indisputable master of mediums, Finn’s work rejects the banal and instead re-imagines all aspects of life to mirror his surreal imagination.
